  1. I shall be in NZ for 10 days in December, but staying with family in Raglan, 2 hours south of Auckland. Also a good surfing beach I believe. If you have been anywhere close by (Hamilton is the nearest big town) I’d be delighted to have some tips!

  2. Hi Jude, most of my experience is of the east rather than west coast, though it’s only about 90 miles to Tauranga from Raglan and the traffic is light by UK standards. My recommendations would require a triangular route, taking the SH2 back to Auckland from Tauranga. If you’re up for a roundabout route home then I can recommend these:
